This morning got off to a very uplifting start for me! I’ve been reading Caitlin’s blog ever since I discovered the world of healthy living blogs. She’s is the originator of Operation Beautiful and her book just came out yesterday! Operation Beautiful encourages everyone to love themselves and others, no matter how they look. It discourages the “fat talk” we’re all so guilty of and urges you to love yourself. I don’t think there could be a better message out there. In celebration of her book release, Caitlin put together an “All-Star” panel of bloggers to write a post each day.
Today’s post comes from Mama Pea (whose blog, in various iterations, I’ve also been reading since the start) and it almost had me weeping at work. A beautiful post from a wonderful writer and a beautful woman. (It also made me super thankful for my mother who also raised me in such a supportive manner!) All the Operation Beautiful love inspired me to jot a little note. I plopped a sticky note onto the bathroom mirror and wrote: “YOU look absolutely STUNNING today!” I also put the Operation Beautiful web address on there. You can never spread too much love!
In other news, Hubs and I are a day away from our trip back to Atlanta and I cannot wait! I actually got excited about doing laundry last night because it means we get to pack and leave soon. 🙂 Even though it will be a weekend of celebration and delight, I am planning to eat carefully. I need to remember my four pound goal for August. My Mom loves to take walks as well so I’ll pack my Garmin and she and I will hopefully go for a jaunt or two.
Monday night I hustled home from work and headed to the apartment gym. Remember that treadmill that made creepy noises and jolted me around while using the various inclines? Well that sucker is officially broken now. The read out just said “Elev(ation) Stall” and won’t come back down to flat or run the belt. That reduces our little apartment gym to just two treadmills. (Both of which were occupied on Monday.) I kinda wanted a little break anyway, so I hopped onto an elliptical and did a series of intervals that lasted 47 minutes and clocked 2.66 miles.
Tuesday I gave my knees the day off after they complained all Monday night and Tuesday during the day. (Hey, isn’t the elliptical supposed to be low impact? Apparently my body didn’t get that memo…) I did try a DELICIOUS new dinner combo though! I marinated some veggies (squash and mushrooms) in teriyaki sauce and then grilled them up on the Foreman. I paired this with a wrap made in heaven: tortilla, 1.5 slices of provolone cheese, two spoonfulls of pine nut hummus, and 1/8 lb of herb roasted turkey breast slices. Holy delicious. I think I moaned for a good five minutes to Hubs about the heavenly qualities of cheese and hummus melted together. So GOOD.
Today I plan to get in a half hour of cardio and restart my weight lifting. I abandoned it shortly after the wedding and my arms tell the sad tale. I want my definition back! (Also, I want to get married again — the day was so wonderful!)

Okay, I promise I’m done overloading your browser with super huge wedding photos now! I am in love with our photographer though and highly recommend Josh Weiss if you’re ever in need of photography in the Atlanta area.
Back to tonight: other plans include packing and a trip to the library. I finished The Lonely Polygamist (review coming soon) and got an email this morning saying they are holding four books for me. Holy moly! Time to get to reading.
